INTRODUCTION:
The Test & Measurement 2005 Conference and Exhibition represents a watershed event, since it is the 25th year that Calibration and Testing laboratory personnel will be getting together to learn, be updated and participate in the transfer of technology in their various fields of interest.
The organizers are well aware of the growing importance that the results of the tests and calibrations that these laboratories have on the many aspects of both trade and consumer affairs. In the light thereof, this year’s event will aim to provide a focused programme for both analytical and physical measurement disciplines.
Given the wide diversity of measurement fields that attendees come from, the organizers are confident that there is something for everyone; ranging from Accreditation to Quality Assurance, Traceability to Measurement Uncertainty, Reference Materials and Proficiency Testing to Laboratory Management.

It will then come as no surprise that the event has attracted a wide range of International contributions as well as from Africa, the SADC and of course South Africa.

PAPERS:

The Chairman of the Test & Measurement 2005 Papers Committee would like to thank all authors/presenters who have submitted abstracts and advise that the programme is now fully subscribed. Further submissions will not be accepted. Should you have made a commitment prior to the 27th May 2005 and have not yet submitted your abstract, please contact the NLA office for details as to how this can be accomplished.

The due date for complete papers is June 30th. Please note that submission of complete papers by the due date will ensure that presenters will be afforded free attendance at the Conference.
The organising committee would like to encourage everyone interested to consider making a presentation and look forward to receiving submissions.

This year we will make an additional award for the best paper received from a presenter who has never presented at a conference before. We would ask all those who in the past have had the desire to make a contribution, but have never done so, to please give serious consideration and do so this time. The committee is very keen to encourage new 'presenters'.
